What an exciting first week we had with the PTA event on Thursday and Diwali and Bonfire Night on Friday. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all PTA Committee members and parents who worked so hard to offer the children a day of fun activities. In order to manage numbers we are inviting parents of Nursery AM, Reception Red and Reception Green classes to the morning performance and parents of Nursery PM, Reception Yellow and Reception Blue to the afternoon performance.

Hannah Shaw Cranbrook are very lucky to have Hannah Shaw a young children's author and illustrator visiting the school for the day on Friday 12th November. She has a passion for character creation, drawing and fun story ideas. She loves to share her enthusiasm of books with children. She will be giving an assembly and then working with Year 2 classes and finally will be signing and selling her engaging and humorous books in the small hall from 3:10. Her books have been enjoyed by our children over the last half term and they have received some excellent reviews.

School Dinner Money Please remember to pay all school dinner monies at the beginning of the week in advance. School Dinners cost £1.95 per day or £9.75 per week. Please place in a clearly marked envelope and give to your child’s class teacher (not the Office). Cheques should be made payable to ‘London Borough of Redbridge’.

Uniform/ Jewellery I am very pleased to see the majority of the children following school policy. However, there are a few parents who need to ensure that children come to school in proper uniform and are not wearing jewellery unless it is for religious observance.

Coats As the weather is now getting cooler, please ensure your child brings a weatherproof coat and appropriate footwear, as we would like the children to go out at playtimes as much as possible.

Lost Property Please collect any lost property from the small hall after school.

Eid We would like to wish all of you celebrating Eid a happy time. Please let the school know if your child will be absent for this. One day’s absence will be authorised for Eid.

Late Collection Please ensure that your child is collected from school promptly at the end of the school day. Reception to Year 2 children finish at 3.15pm and Year 3- Year 6 children finish at 3.20pm. After school provision is provided by the Children’s Centre at a cost of £6.00 per session if you are unable to collect your child at the end of the day but this must be arranged with the Children’s Centre in advance. There should be no reason for staff to have to stay late to supervise children not collected on time.

Attendance Please keep up the good work on attendance but we are noticing that a lot of children have been arriving late on a regular basis which gives an interrupted start to their school day. The class with the highest percentage were Year 4 Green with 99.6%! Well done! The overall percentage for the whole school was 93.3%.

Percentages for other classes were as follows:
R Blue 96.7% R Green 87.5% R Red 89.3% R Yellow 89.2%
Yr 1 Blue 94.2% Yr 1 Green 93.1% Yr1 Red 99.1% Yr 1 Yellow 88.0%
Yr 2 Blue 96.7% Yr 2 Green 97.2% Yr 2 Red 86.7% Yr 2 Yellow 96.6%
Yr 3 Blue 92.9% Yr 3 Green 91.5% Yr 3 Red 91.1% Yr 3 Yellow 91.8%
Yr 4 Green 99.6% Yr 4 Red 95.0%
Yr 5 Blue 92.2% Yr 5 Yellow 92.5%
