Newsletter No 21 22nd Feb 2012

Welcome back, everyone! I do hope you had a really good half-term. As always it has been lovely to see our children return happy and excited.

OFSTED Inspection I would like to take this opportunity to say a big ‘thank you’ to all the parents, who took the time to complete the questionnaires and talk to the Inspectors. We had a great response. Unfortunately, we will not be notified of the outcome until the report is available, hopefully by the end of the month. More to follow.

Year 6 Parents’ Meetings Apologies, once again for the change of date for these meetings. If you are not sure what time your appointment is, please check with the office.

Passport Signing We will now be charging parents/carers £5 for each passport signing, as we are being inundated with requests.

Sainsburys Active Kids Vouchers We are collecting the Sainsburys Active Kids Vouchers again this year, so please remember to send them in to school so we can collect as many as we can and exchange them for PE equipment.

Parking We have received yet another complaint from a resident who lives on The Drive. The driver of a black BMW 5 series registration number V2 EEV left their car unattended blocking two driveways. Please be more considerate when parking your vehicles to bring and collect your children from school. Please also avoid parking in the disabled bays as ‘They are for disabled people!’. I am really disappointed to find out that some parents refuse to allow disabled people to use these spaces—SHAME ON YOU!

There was stiff competition from schools such as Leverton Junior, Roding Primary and Oakdale Junior. Both of our teams did well throughout the quiz and were exceptional at answering maths questions. Overall, Team A (Naval 6Y), Omar (5R), Aisha (4G) and Soumya (3G) were placed 2nd. Throughout the quiz Team B (Eman 6B), Yusuf (5G), Qasim (4R) and Yetunde were trailing the winning school in 2nd position, however, Oakdale Juniors were too quick! Well done to both teams for making us extremely proud. Junaida G and T Co-Ordinator.

Cranbrook Primary Statement Governors, parents and staff have worked together to compose a statement that clearly reflects the stance that Cranbrook Primary School takes and this statement will now be evident around the school and on its documentation.
We, the adults and children at Cranbrook Primary School, embrace every member of our community and their race, ethnicity, religion, gender, physical and mental ability, beliefs, etc. We recognize all that they contribute to the school. Every person is unique and brings varying life experiences, beliefs and cultures. They positively add to the rich learning environment of our community. We will respect, value and learn from all of these, ensuring that we treat everyone as we would wish to be treated. This will uphold the Cranbrook Values of:
