Safety Week This week
we have focussed on the theme of ‘Safety’ in classroom discussions, lessons and
in assemblies, as part of our termly focus on raising children’s awareness of
how to keep themselves safe. The areas of discussion have included racism,
bullying, stranger danger, cyber-bullying and keeping safe on the internet. I
would urge you all to reinforce key message to your child, and to be vigilant
when your child is on the internet.
Parent Feedback As a staff
team, we are always keen to receive your feedback, good and bad. Thank you to
those parents and carers who gave us some feedback at yesterday’s Open School
Sessions. Please remember you can also go on the OFSTED website and visit the
‘Parentview’ link to provide confidential feedback. You can also write comments
and drop them into the Parent’s Suggestion Box in the School Lobby.
Paperless Newsletter/Homework As mentioned previously, we will stop sending paper copies
out after half term, (from November). Please remember, if you still want a
paper copy of the newsletter, you may collect one from the school office.
Taking Photographs From time
to time, we take photos of your child for school displays and/or the school
website. If you have any objection to this and do not wish us to photograph your
child, please put this in writing and give the letter to the school office for
my attention.
Colour Assemblies Colour

Thereafter, we will repeat the above pattern. All parents are
invited to attend. Reception classes will join after Christmas.
Open School It was
lovely to see so many parents at yesterday’s ‘Open Day’ sessions. This will
continue as a termly event throughout the year.
Cranbrook Parenting Course We
would like to invite parents, carers and grandparents to take part in a 5 week
parenting course at Cranbrook Primary School. The course will start on Friday
26th September and will run for 5 weeks until Friday 24th October from 9.30am –
11.15am. Parents will have the opportunity to meet other parents, strengthen
their parenting skills, develop new skills and techniques, learn how to manage
behaviour in a positive way and raise children’s self-esteem. A certificate
will be awarded to all participants at the end of the course and free refreshments
will be provided throughout. If you would like to enrol please phone 020 8518
