Teachers’ Strike The National Union of Teachers has organised a strike on 26th
March. A number of teachers at Cranbrook have already indicated that they will
be taking action, whilst I await the decision of others. Therefore, I will
provide an update in next week’s newsletter as to how this will affect the
school, as we may need to close.
Year 4 Performance Year 4 parents are invited to the performance of “Anansi and
the moss covered rock” on Thursday 6th March at 2pm.

Attendance Well done to class 6 Red for achieving 98.7%.
Fantastic! The overall percentage for the whole school was 93.6%.
Punctuality I would like to clarify that registration is at:
8.55am for Year 3-6
9am for Reception, Year 1
and 2
We expect our pupils to be in class at
these times because learning starts immediately. Please make every effort to
ensure that you arrive in school promptly as the entry doors will be closed
at 9.05am when registers close. Any late arrivals will need to register at
the school office after this time.
Lunch Arrears Please remember to settle any outstanding school lunch
arrears promptly. For your child to receive a school meal, the payments must be
received in advance, failing which, you will be contacted and asked to bring in
a packed lunch until the arrears have been settled. If parents continuously
fail to clear their arrears, their child will be given an alternative lunch in
line with the ISS policy.
Uniform Please ensure that your child comes to school in
uniform (jade sweatshirt or plain grey jumper/cardigan, white polo shirt and grey
trousers/skirt). Headscarves should be plain black or white, not printed. No
jewellery should be worn, unless for religious reasons.
Parents’ Evening on 4th and
11th March Please remember to send in
the reply slips as soon as possible, so that a time can be allocated for you to
meet the class teacher.
Spring Term CFA Event Our next CFA fundraising event will be a diversity
celebration on Thursday 3rd April from 3.15-4.45pm featuring private stalls,
cultural food and a talent show. We are hoping for good weather so that we can
have this event outdoors!
If you are interested in having a
private stall, the cost is £20 and bookings can be made via Rahima. Please call
the school office on 0208 518 2562.
This will be a non-uniform day and children
are invited to come in their cultural dress or to wear their house colours.
Watch this space for more details about
this exciting event in the coming weeks!
Cranbrook Parenting Course We would like to invite parents, carers and grandparents to
take part in a five week parenting course starting on Friday 7th March and will
run until Friday 4th April. The course will take place at the school from
9.15-11.15am. Participants will have the opportunity to meet other parents,
strengthen their parenting skills, develop new skills and techniques, learn how
to manage behaviour in a positive way and raise children’s self-esteem. A
certificate will be awarded to all participants at the end of the course and
free refreshments will be provided throughout. If you would like to enrol or
would like further information, please contact Beverley (the school’s Parent
Support Adviser) on 0208 518 2562.
