We come to the end of
yet another busy and productive school term. I am pleased to report on last
week’s inspection of Teaching and Learning, which was carried out by 2 Ofsted
inspectors and an educational consultant. The outcome confirmed that Cranbrook
Primary is a “GOOD” school that achieves good standards for its pupils. The
leadership has the capacity to achieve well and set the appropriate priorities
for the school. The report will made available after Easter.
Our priorities remain:
·
Extending
children’s reading, writing and mathematics skills.
·
More
challenge for our higher attaining pupils.
·
Attendance.
Spring Break Please remember that the last day of term is Friday
4th April and school will finish at the usual time. The summer term will begin
Tuesday 22nd April. See dates overleaf for holiday periods.
Staffing Update We welcome back Martha from her maternity leave. She is
currently working 2 days each week providing cover across the school. We also
welcome Debbie Lee, who has joined the staff team as an experienced Early Years
and KS1 teacher. She will be supporting across Year 2 before taking on class
responsibility for class 2 Green, when Claire begins her maternity leave. 3
Green is continuing to be covered by Mark and Aaliya during Sonia’s absence.
Finally, Shailesh Parekh, the Finance Officer will be leaving the school to
take up a full-time position in a school closer to his home. I would like to
take this opportunity to wish him well for his new position and to thank him
for his contribution to Cranbrook.
All fresh food should be sent in on 3rd
April by midday if possible.
For health and safety reasons and the
number of people involved, in the event of bad weather the event will be
cancelled and we will hold a food sale in the main hall. The other elements
of events will be re-arranged after the Easter break. Let’s keep our fingers
crossed for good weather!
Colour Assemblies There will be no colour assemblies running on 3rd
April as we will be busy getting ready for the CFA Diversity Event. They will
resume after the Spring break on 24th April with the revised time changes as
follows:
9.10-9.35am Blue and Rainbow classes
(Hall) & Green classes (Dance studio)
2.40-3.05pm Red (Hall) and Yellow
