Newsletter No 27 18th April 2012

Welcome back! I would welcome you all back and hope you had a good Easter break and are now looking forward to the term ahead, as we certainly are.
Congratulations Congratulations to Allaya Rasul of 5R for achieving her Gold Award. Well done, Allaya.

Royal Albert Hall Well done also to all the children in Years 5 and 6 who represented Cranbrook at the recent Choral Festival at the Albert Hall. We had the pleasure of watching a magical performance in this fantastic venue where over 2000 Redbridge pupils performed. Many thanks to all the staff who supported this event.

Class Information Meetings A reminder to parents that the class information meetings are continuing to take place at 9-9.30am, providing you with information about this term’s learning theme for your child’s class.
Please make every effort to attend. The dates for each year group are as follows:

Clubs Letters allocating clubs will be sent out by the end of the week. Clubs run by the school will begin next week starting on Monday 23rd April. Walking club will begin week beginning 30th April. Children should ask Sheena (5R) if they wish to join in as this club is run at lunchtime.

Open School As usual, I would like to invite all parents and carers to walk through the school and look at your child’s class books on Monday 30th April between 3.30 – 4.15pm. Please note that this is an opportunity for the children to show their books to parents, rather than a meeting with the class teacher.

CFA Table Top Sale Thanks to all the CFA Committee and Helen, Beverley and Stephen for their excellent organisation. We raised £473.22 and enjoyed a lovely afternoon.

Colour Assemblies Please note that there is a change of time for the Red and Yellow Classes assembly every Thursday. The assembly will now start at 2.40pm.

Healthy Lunches We have seen a real decline in the quality of some packed lunches, the worst ones being items such as a packet of chocolate biscuits and nothing else! Please help your child by ensuring that there is a balance of nutrients within the meal provided. Healthy suggestions include— fruit, yoghurts, sandwich, wraps, salad, etc.
Remember– High sugar = poor behaviour = poor progress.

Class Photos The photographers will be in school next Wednesday 25th April to take class photos. Please make sure that your child comes to school in full school uniform.

St. George’s Day Children are invited to come into school on Monday 23rd April wearing red and white in celebration of St. George’s Day for a donation of £1. We will also be donating some of the money towards a charity organised by a local Mosque to support a young girl to walk again.
