A Date For Your Diary - 20th May, 9-10am, Small Hall - Parent Coffee Morning

Parents are invited to come along and find out more about the CFA and the forthcoming Summer Fair. We have lots of exciting plans and hope to raise money for the school. We are particularly looking for parent

volunteers to help set up and run stalls at the Fair on the 11th June. We would also be grateful for any raffle prizes you may have to donate. If you have a small business and would like to run a private stall, the cost will be £20 per table. Please contact Rahima via the school office if you are interested in running a private stall.

Attendance
Parents please note that all absences taken without authorisation or notification to the school will be unauthorised. We would also like to ask you to call in the morning if your child is absent before 9:45am each day. If your child has a dental or doctors appointment in the middle of the day, he/she should still be in school before or after.
Year 6 SATs
Our Year 6 children have been working hard on their SATs this week. I have been very impressed with their attitudes and focus.

School Dinner Theme Day
A reminder that we will be having a special theme menu on the final Census Day for the year which falls on Thursday  21st May.  Flyers to be given out.

Parent Governor Vacancy
We currently have a vacancy for a Parent Governor, which is open to any parent who has a child at the school. The commitment is entirely voluntary and requires 2 evenings per term for full body meetings at the school, usually 6-8.30pm, as well as 1 Friday per term   for  committee   meetings.   In   addition, all governors are expected to undertake a monitoring visit to the school during the school day, at least once each term. All activities would be in line with the ‘Code of Conduct for Governors’, a copy of which can be obtained via the school office.
If you are interested in standing for this position, please send in a personal statement of 100 words, stating why you would be suitable. If we have only 1 person applying, then that individual automatically fills the vacancy. If however, there are more nominations, then a secret ballot will be held in line with the set procedure. We currently have a gap of specific skills on the governing body relating to law and quantity surveying. However, this should not exclude any parent from being nominated. Interested parents should send in their personal statement by Friday 22nd May 2015.
