Newsletter No.39 16th July 2014

As we come towards the end of the school year, I would like to take this opportunity to acknowledge the hard work of our children and staff, and to thank you all for your continued support.
We have had many highlights and achievements this year:
·         Improved results throughout the school—the best ever! EYFS, KS1, KS2 and Year 1 phonics.
·         Stability of staff and the Governing Body
·         Fantastic CFA events, such as the Movie Night, Diversity Event and the Summer Fair, raising £12,000
·         Well attended and fun sports day
·         All the school performances where children demonstrated great team work, confidence and independence
·         The best attendance figures 95.3 %. Let’s keep this up!
·         The continued and valued support of our parents and community
·         The superb behaviour of our children
·         The positive reports of the recent inspection and Local Authority monitoring
·         Feedback from pupils, parents and staff on the many strengths of the school

We have set ourselves many challenges for next year and want to achieve even higher results for our pupils. I will share our key priorities at the beginning of the next academic year.

Colour Assemblies There will no colour assemblies tomorrow as Year 2 will be holding their end of year performance for their parents.

School Travel Plan I am delighted to announce that Cranbrook has become the first Redbridge Primary School to obtain gold accreditation for our work on the travel plan. We have reduced car travel and increased walking, cycling and park and stride.
Last week, I attended a Celebration and Awards event at The Town Hall. Amanda Irons, our travel plan champion, together with Qasim, Vikram, Kiran and Faizah in Year 6 gave a presentation. Cranbrook were highly commended for our work on cycling and won Primary School of the Year for our work on the Travel Plan. Well done everyone for helping us achieve these awards.
