Teachers’ Strike The National Union of Teachers has organised a strike on 26th March, which may be called off. If this is the case, the school will open as usual. However, if the strike takes place, we may need to close because of the high number of teachers who will be out. An update will be provided next week.
Year 4 Performance Year 4 parents are invited to the performance of “Anansi and the moss covered rock” on Thursday 6th March at 2pm. I look forward to seeing you tomorrow.
Colour Assemblies Due to the Year 4 performance taking place, there will be no colour assemblies running this Thursday 6th March.

Attendance Well done to classes 5 Yellow and 6 Green for both achieving 99.6%. Fantastic! The overall percentage for the whole school was 96%. However, our average for the year still remains below the National average of 95.6%, at 94.9%. This would be judged by OFSTED as inadequate. Therefore, I urge all parents to support us with this.
World Book Day As mentioned in the group call last week, to celebrate World Book Day, children are invited to come into school dressed as their favourite book character on Friday 7th March.
Car Park I have received reports that some parents are intimidating and abusing each other in the car park. Once again, I would remind both pedestrians and drivers to be aware and respect each other.
School Crossing Patrol I am pleased to inform you that the Local Authority have employed Jaqueline Higgins as the new School Crossing Patrol for the school. She is due to begin on Tuesday 11th March 2014.

E-Safety We would like to remind parents to make sure they monitor the content of games, websites and apps that the children are downloading from the internet. It is important to keep a check on what your children are doing online. The ‘Think u Know’ (www.thinkuknow.co.uk) website is a great resource to get you up to speed and also has tools to help you create a safe environment.
SATs Week Year 6 parents, please note that SATs will take place from Monday 12th to 16th May. Absences for Year 6 pupils will not be authorised unless medical evidence is provided or exceptional circumstances apply. Therefore, please make every effort to bring your child to school on time.
School Council Following a pupil vote, the elected leaders of the School Council are:
Wali Mustafa (6R) - Chair
Noholi Ahmed Nistha (6Y) - Vice Chair
Sabha Chaudhary (5B) - Deputy Vice-Chair

Temporary Swimming Pool at Wanstead Have you heard about the Borough’s pop up pool? It is located on Redbridge Lane West by the High School/Leisure Centre and is open until 3rd April.
