Penalty Notice Please note, as mentioned in the newsletter on 6th November, there has been a significant change for fines to parents who take children out on unauthorised absences. The new Local Authority and School policy means that each parent is fined. Therefore, you may be liable for a fine of £240 per child! Please avoid taking your child/ren out during term time. Please note that many who have decided to travel abroad without authorisation will be liable for this fine, per child, per parent. If there are two children in the family, each parent will be fined £60-£120 per child, per parent.
Important - Change of Inset Date Please can you note that the school will be closed to pupils for Inset on 24th February, NOT the 14th February. Apologies for any inconvenience that this may cause.
Colour Assemblies There will be no colour assemblies on Thursday 19th December as some Christmas parties will be taking place. Please check dates for each year group on the calendar opposite.
Parental Concerns If you have any concerns, please see the class teacher in the first instance and/or relevant member of staff. In addition, I am appalled to hear that my office staff are regularly abused by parents who may be unhappy about something. Whilst I realise that there will be times when parents are not happy with the school, no adult deserves to be shouted at for doing their job. I would ask that displeasure is expressed in a decent way, so that we can work together to address any issues.
Nelson Mandela Like many people around the world, I have been very moved by the death of this amazing man. In school we have led assemblies and discussions, I would encourage parents to do the same at home.
CFA Movie Night We raised £1500, which will be used to develop the playground. Many thanks to all those who have given their time, effort and commitment to make this event a huge success. It is a shame that some parents failed to read letters and group call messages that were sent out in good time with the deadline, did not pay attention and were disappointed when told their child could not participate due to a cap on numbers for health and safety reasons.
CFA members, parent reps and those who helped on the day are invited to a thank you Coffee Morning on Friday 20th December at 9.15am in the Staff Room.us for a hot drink and a mince pie
P.E./Cold Weather As the cold weather is now upon us, please ensure that your child has a coat, hat, scarf and gloves. For outdoor P.E. sessions, children should wear a tracksuit (or sweatshirt and jogging bottoms).
Christmas Lunch If your child is eligible for a free school meal, you do not need to make a payment for the Christmas Lunch on 13th December. Any payments made in error to us will be returned to you.
Christmas Performance Please take note that the Reception classes will be presenting their Christmas Performances to their parents on 18th December. Please check the relevant time for your child’s class.
Christmas Parties Years 1, 2, 3 and 4 will be having their Christmas parties on Monday 16th December. Nursery, Reception, Years 5 and 6 will be having their parties on Thursday 19th December. Children will need to bring food just for themselves for their party, as we cannot provide this.
Nursery Invitation Nursery parents/carers are invited to drop in and take part in engagement learning sessions with their child every Friday from 8.45am-9.30am or 12.30-1.15pm.
Rupens The school uniform provider will be closed from 5/12/13 to 13/12/13 and from 23/12/13 to 3/1/14. The shop will open on 7/12/13 and from the usual shop opening hours from 16/12/13 to 20/12/13. Normal business will resume on 3rd January 2014.
