Unauthorised
Absence For the
month of October, the Local Authority issued 6 penalty notices to parents for
their child’s unauthorised absence. I would remind parents that if your child
has 12 sessions of unauthorised absence recorded throughout the academic year,
the Local Authority will issue you with a penalty notice. The notice incurs a
fine of £120 which is reduced to £60
if it is paid within 21 days. Penalty notices may be considered in the first
instance for leave of absence taken without permission of the Headteacher which
will result in £120 fine per parent, per child (reducing to £60 per
parent, per child if paid within 21 days).

Cranbrook
Friends Association (CFA) Event We are keen to encourage parents/carers to attend these
meetings and all are welcome to come along to the next meeting on Friday 15th
November at 2pm. This meeting is to plan and organise our next event which will
be a ’Movie Night’ after school on Thursday 5th December. We would love to see
our Parent Representatives at this meeting.
Children In Need We are taking part in
Children In Need on Friday and have a fun packed day planned which the children
learnt about in assembly today. The children and staff are invited to come into
school in their pyjamas or onesies (warm and sensible ones please, no
nighties!) and donate £1. There will be prizes for the best dressed children
and staff. School council children will be collecting money on the gates in
their beautifully decorated Pudsey buckets.
During the afternoon, we
will be making a money trail in the playground, so please give your child some
loose change. There will be prizes for the classes with the biggest trails.
Samosas and cakes will be
on sale in the playground after school (or in the small hall it is raining) and
donations of either will be gratefully received. Finally, Year 5 are having a
sleepover in the Hall. A letter has been sent home to Year 5 about this.
Please, please give generously on Friday and help us to raise money for
Children In Need. I am hoping this will be the biggest amount Cranbrook have
ever raised for charity.
