Important
Notice I am
concerned that a number of pupils (some at Year 1) are being left to go into
school from the main road on their own. For safety reasons please ensure that
your child is accompanied all the way to school and that they go into
school safely, especially if they are late as they need to be signed in by an
adult.

Non-Uniform
Day Children are invited to come
into school in non-uniform on Friday 14th June. Children can wear their own clothes and we
will be asking for a small donation (per family) of items that can be used in
the Summer Fayre. This may include a box of chocolates, bottles of soft drinks
or raffle prizes.
Summer
Fayre 20th June The
date is fast approaching and we are
hoping that the sunshine will come out for the Wild West Bonanza! As advised in
last weeks newsletter, we will not be able to sell any further tickets at this
stage as the weather is so unpredictable. If it rains, the event will take place inside, where a
limit on numbers has to apply for health and safety reasons. Therefore, we will
see what the weather forecast is closer to the date before selling more tickets. If it is
sunny on 20th June, tickets will be available on the day. Tokens can be
purchased in the playground before and after school at a cost of 50p each.
These can be used on most stalls.
“What
Does Your School Mean To You” Competition Calling all students! What does
your school mean to you? Imagination and creativity? A safe place where friends
are made and memories are created? Your school councillors are working on something very special
and want you to tell them what Cranbrook Primary School means to you. You may choose to write your responses in a
paragraph (no more than 100 words please) or draw a picture with a caption. You
may choose to work on a response alone or with friends. It’s up to you! Just
make sure you give your entry to your teacher by 4th July 2013.
Transition Information
Session For Year 5 Parents We would
like to invite all of our Year 5 parents to our secondary school transition
information session. This is a very important meeting which will take
place on Wednesday 19th June from 9am - 10.30am. We will discuss the secondary school application
process and how we at Cranbrook can support you. You will have the opportunity to meet the Heads of Year 7
from Valentines and Wanstead Secondary Schools. They will talk about life in
secondary school and answer any questions that you may have. Refreshments will
be available on the day. Please ensure
that you attend this meeting.
CGP study books (English,
Maths and Science) will also be available to purchase at this meeting.
Security Bike Marking Event The police will be carrying out security bike marking in the playground tomorrow. Please bring your
child’s bike and leave it in the fenced off gym area with the form attached.
Forms are available from the school office or will be given out in the morning.
Bikeability Training for Year 5 We are able to extend the
Bikeability training during the week commencing 8th July to Year 5. Two
instructors will work with groups of 8 children in the playground progressing
onto the road. If your child will be aged 10 on 8th July, has a roadworthy
helmet and is able to ride their bike, they will be eligible to take part. A
letter was sent home on Monday and the deadline for returning forms is Friday 14th June. Don’t miss out—there
are a limited number of places available!
Free Sky Ride Local Guided Rides The London Borough of Redbridge is working in partnership with British Cycling to
offer free, fun, guided bike rides around the local area as part of the Sky
Ride Local Programme between June and September 2013. Guided by friendly
British Cycling Ride Leaders along scenic planned routes, they are a great way
to get out and see the local area on two wheels. With different levels, there
are rides for all abilities—whether you are building your confidence or already
comfortable on a bike and looking for a challenge. There are off road family
rides too! Redbridge is a great place to cycle and now there are even more
opportunities for local residents and families to get out and about on their
bike in the area. For all dates and times to register for a free Sky Ride Local
