Newsletter No 39 18th July 2012

As we come to end of another school year, I would like to take the opportunity to thank you all for your continued support and would like to reflect over this year’s successes.
Highlights of this year
¨       Improved assessments results across the school.
¨       Good OFSTED
¨       Good behaviour of our pupils
¨       Supportive parents
¨       Committed governing body
¨       Stable staff team
¨       Committed Cranbrook Friends Association (CFA)
¨       A fantastic summer fayre—which raised £3,400.  The CFA has raised £9,000  over the last 2 years, which is going to be spent on developing our Chicken/Sensory Garden.
¨       A fun and competitive Sports Day.
¨       A memorable Olympic Week.
¨       Jubilee Week and related events.
¨       Glasbury trip for Year 6
¨       Enthusiastic, happy and wonderful children.

Congratulations  Congratulations to Matthew Pokuah (2B) for achieving his gold award.
Headteacher Awards were awarded to the following children:Faiza Shakeel (2R) for her story being published, Kerathan Sajinan (RG) for excellent writing, Surya Premkumar (1B) and Aleena Khawaja (1B) for wonderful maths work.
Well done, also to all the children who achieved their 100% attendance.

Early finish Friday 20th July  School will be closing at 2pm on Friday 20th July so please make sure you have made arrangments to collect your child at this earlier time. There will also be no After School Club provision.
Year 6 Assembly  Year 6 Assembly to parents is on Friday 20th July at 9am. 
Attendance The classes with the highest percentages are 1 Red and 3 Yellow both with 98.6%. Well done to both classes!  The overall percentage for the whole school was 93.8%.
1st day of Autumn Term  All children will be expected to return to school on Thursday 6th September.  Any parents whose children that are absent on the first two days of term will receive fines, if they are still on holiday as the dates have been shared through the year.
Highland Games  Cranbrook’s first ever Highland Games will take place after school today (Weds) from 3.15-4.30pm in the playground.  There will be lots of Scottish games and entertainment to raise money for VSO, an international development charity.  The CFA will also be selling food and drinks.

School Lettings:
Bollywood Fuzion & Zumba Classes for Ladies (Letting) Bollywood Fuzion is a Bollywood fitness dance and Zumba (latin based) class which willin our Dance Studio as follows:, 7:30—8:30pm Bollywood FuZion and 8.30-9.30pm Zumba and on Saturdays: Zumba 10am-11am. Summer Camp—Art & Craft, Dance and Fitness(Lettings) This is offered to boys and girls in Reception to Year 6 from Monday 13th August to Friday 17th August 2012 at 10am to 1pm. For further details please contact Archita Goenka on 07967 544402 or architagoenka29@gmail.com.  SPACES STILL AVAILABLE!
Summer Holiday Tennis Courses  Tennis courses are being held at Cranbrook Castle LT and SC,
St Georges Road
, Ilford for children during the summer holidays.  For more information please call Laura 07590 398722 or Paul 07950 269573 or alternatively collect a leaflet from the school office. 
Cranbrook Volunteers We would like to say a very big thank you to all of our volunteers who have given their time and commitment throughout the last year. The energy and enthusiasm shown by all of the volunteers has been much appreciated by the staff and pupils alike. Each volunteer is set to receive a nationally recognised volunteering qualification accredited by the open college network for the time and effort they have dedicated to Cranbrook.
First Day of Term  On the first day back at school in September all classes except Reception Red and Reception Green should line up in the playground where the Classteachers will collect your children.  There will be signs to show you where to assemble.

Lastly, I would like to take this opportunity to thank you all for your continued support and lovely gifts and wish you all an enjoyable summer break and look forward to seeing you again on Thursday 6th September, when school re-opens for pupils.
