School Closure Please remember that school is CLOSED tomorrow (Thursday 30th June) due to the Industrial Action supported by the Teachers’ unions.

Year 6 Trip to Glasbury I am thrilled to report that the Year 6 children and staff had a fantastic time at Glasbury, although they were very tired upon their return! The children were very enthusiastic to try out all the activities and were very well behaved throughout their stay and commended by Glasbury staff for their good manners. Well done to Mark and Martha.

Attendance The classes with the highest percentage Year 2 Yellow and Year 5 Blue with 98.3%! Well done to both classes! The overall percentage for the whole school was 95.5 %. Percentages for other classes were as follows:

IF YOUR CHILD’S CLASS PERCENTAGE IS BELOW IS 95%, PLEASE MAKE EVERY EFFORT TO ENSURE HE/SHE ATTENDS REGULARLY. POOR ATTENDANCE = POOR PROGRESS = POOR SELF ESTEEM

Key Dates for Year 6 There are a number of key dates for Year 6 children in their final weeks at Cranbrook.
A year 6 performance will be on Monday 18th July at 6pm, they will have their final assembly on Friday 22nd July at 10am and they will also have a Leavers Disco on Wednesday 20th July. All Year 6 parents are invited to these events (except the Disco!!!). On 22nd July Year 6 pupils will be finishing at 12pm.

Sports Day This will take place on 7th July, KS1 will start at 9.15 am and KS2 will start at 1.30pm. I hope that parents will be able to join us and cheer the children on.

Open School/Exhibition This will take place on 19th July from 3:30-4:15pm. All parents are invited to come in and walk through the school to look at the lovely work displayed and to visit your child’s new classroom and meet their new teacher for September 2011.

End of Year Reports The end of year Reports will be sent home to parents on the 8th July. This term there is no formal parents evening. However, once you have read the report if you wish to discuss it, please approach the class teacher directly.

Year 2 performance The Year 2 performance to parents will be on 12th July at 2pm.

Nursery Teddy Bear’s Picnic Nursery will be having a Teddy Bear’s picnic on 6th July during the morning and afternoon sessions. Parents will be welcome at this event, a letter will be sent out with further details.

Last day for Nursery Please note the last day of term for Nursery children will be Thursday 14th July.
