Unauthorised Holidays and Fines Please note that any visits abroad will not be authorised as Easter is over 2 weeks. Also absences between 26th April and 28th April will not be authorised unless we are in receipt of medical evidence.

Year 1 Trip A reminder for all Year 1 parents that 2 classes will be going on their trip to Southend on Thursday (tomorrow) and 2 classes will be going on Friday (8th April).

Sponge Balls Children can bring in sponge balls to play with at lunchtime but they must be labelled and cannot be used for football.

Lost Property Just to remind you that today is the last day that all unclaimed lost property will be on tables in the playground (weather permitting) for you to collect items of uniform and clothing. All items with name labels have already been returned to the child but please check for any mislaid items in the small hall this week. Please make a donation to the school fund for any items which you wish to take from the tables. Any remaining clothing will be either discarded or donated to a charity shop at the end of next week.
Please remember to label ALL items of your child’s uniform so that it can be easily returned when it gets mislaid!

Staff News We would like to wish Martha good luck on her forthcoming marriage during the Easter Break and would like to welcome Joyce who will take over 2B whilst Julia is on maternity leave.

Late Collection of Children During the week of 28th March to 1st April, a total of 28 children were collected as late as 4.45pm at the end of the school day. If your child is collected late, you must ensure you sign them out in the late book as the main office. Over the following weeks we will be closely monitoring this situation. Persistent lateness in collecting your child from school may result in a referral to the Education Welfare Services.

Are you interested in Tennis lessons? Cranbrook Castle Tennis club run coaching sessions on a Saturday morning for all ages including adult beginners! Pick up a leaflet from the school reception area for more information about this very local club!

Dropping Off of Children It has been brought to our attention that some parents are dropping their children off outside the school along the main road and leaving them to walk into the school playground on their own. Please ensure that you escort your child into the playground so that they are not at risk crossing the road and in the car park.

As this is the last newsletter before the end of term, may I take this opportunity to wish you all a good Easter Break and look forward to seeing you all when the school re-opens on Tuesday 26th April 2011.
