Staffing Update Following Patrick’s departure from the school office, I am pleased to inform you that we have been successful in appointing replacements, not only to carry out reception and first aid duties, but also to target monitoring of attendance. I am also pleased to report that 2 class teachers have been appointed to cover Julia’s (RG) and Martha’s (1Y) maternity leave, which will begin towards the end of April. I hope you will join me in welcoming Jasjeet, Satti, Richard and Bienth to the admin team, and Anisah and Denise to the teaching team.

Celebration Day Thank you for supporting our “Red Day” in celebration of St. David’s Day. Our next date to note in your diary is “Green Day” on Friday 15th March, where we are inviting pupils to wear non-uniform with a green theme in celebration of St. Patrick’s Day (which is on 17th March).

Parking We have yet again received complaints from neighbours regarding the behaviour of our parents. Please do not park across the driveways of residents. We also received a complaint of a parent throwing cans out of their car window and driving away. Please show some consideration for others and be a positive role model for your child.

Redbridge Mini Games 46 children from the school took part in the Redbridge Mini Games on Wednesday 27th February. The children participated in football, netball, handball, tri-golf, hockey and basketball. This resulted in the children successfully securing 10 wins against the other schools. As always, the children were all extremely well behaved and demonstrated excellent teamwork and sportsmanship. A number of other school teachers and some of the referees commented on how well the children represented Cranbrook. Well done everyone!

Diversity Celebrations As you know our diversity celebrations will take place over two days and will end with an International Extravaganza on Tuesday 19th March from 3-5pm. Tickets will cost 50p for a child and £1.50 for an adult ticket. Your ticket will include sample food tasting, arts and crafts activities and entry to the Cranbrook Variety Show which will begin at 4pm. Tickets are available to purchase after school from our CFA members and class representatives (they will be wearing yellow jackets). Due to the weather we are unsure whether the event will take place in the main hall or playground, therefore a reduced number of tickets will be released. We will release more when we know more about the weather. Hurry to snap up the last few tickets!
Attached to this letter will be a cooking homework project. No additional homework will be given over the next two weeks (except for Year 6).
Class Representatives If you are a class rep, there will be a meeting on Wednesday 13th March at 9.10am.

Fronter Most of you should be familiar with Fronter and using some of the activities that have been set up for your child. We will be looking to see who has participated in class forums and the results of any voting activities where applicable. Please log onto www.fronter.com/redbridge.

ISS Caterhouse Further to press reports regarding the provision of meat in school lunches, ISS Caterhouse have reassured us that they will continue to ensure that all their products meet the Silver Award guarantee. An update from ISS will be placed on our website for parents information.
