Dear Parents/Carers,

Despite the poor weather, I hope you all enjoyed the Bank Holiday Weekend.

Pupil Achievements It is a pleasure to congratulate the following pupils for being awarded the Gold Award for their success in class: Taha Amin in Rec Red and Amaan Iqbal and Alizeh Moin in Yr 4 Blue.

Attendance Attendance remains a key issue for the school and I would remind all parents to inform the school of the reason for their child’s absence from school. Last week’s overall school attendance percentage was 92% - as this is below the national average of 95%, I would urge all classes that are below that to make every effort to attend regularly.

The class with the highest percentage – 98.2% - was Year 3 Red – Well done!
Percentages for other classes were as follows:
Rec Blue 89% Rec Green 92.7% Rec Red 93.3% Rec Yellow 90.7%
Yr1 Blue 95.9% Yr 1 Green 90.7% Yr 1 Red 92.7% Yr 1 Yellow 91.7%
Yr2 Blue 89.7% Yr 2 Green 93% Yr 2 Red 89.3% Yr 2 Yellow 89.7%
Yr3 Green 95% Yr 3 Red 98.2% Yr 4 Blue 85.9% Yr 4 Yellow 94.3%
Yr5 Red 92.1% Yr 6 Yellow 92.4%

Proof of Flight Delays Where families have not provided proof of flight delay, please do so as soon as possible.

Reading Scheme Session A short session for all parents on the changes that have been introduced will be held on Tuesday 11th May, 8:30-9am. I would urge you to come along if possible. Arrangements will be made for your children while you are attending the session.

Uniform It is school policy that all children should wear uniform. I would like to remind you that if headscarves are worn they should be plain black or white and that no jewellery should be worn except for religious observance.

Accidents If your child suffers a head injury at school, a letter will be sent home. Letters are not sent home about minor injuries. All accidents and minor injuries are recorded and records are kept of all First Aid administered.

Parental Concerns From time to time you may have a concern to share with the school and I would ask you to approach our staff in the following order please: Class Teacher, Year Group Leader, Assistant Head, Deputy Head and then myself. As you will appreciate, I cannot deal with every concern personally!

Redbridge Mini Games Congratulations to all of the children who took part in the Mini Games last week. We finished 28th out of 37 in hockey, 17th out of 24 in the basketball, 25th out of 37 in the football, 9th out of 18 in the Tennis and 30th overall out of 43 schools which is a very good as it was our first entry in the Mini Games. The children were very well behaved, showed great sportsmanship and did the school proud. Well done!

Yours faithfully
